With every new release and tasting experience, Napa’s 2013 vintage continues to prove its worth as one of the region’s finest years ever. With their unbridled complexity and concentration, the top reds deserve all the lavish praise they have received. Cabernet Sauvignon remains the pacesetter for Napa, however we were equally ecstatic about the quality of the year’s Cabernet Franc, a varietal we take great pleasure in working with and promoting its finest attributes. Our 2013 Borne Cabernet Franc is our homage to the grape’s potential from this historic vintage, a wine that captures all the power and grace that makes 2013 so special.

Deep glossy purple in color, the nose reveals intense aromas of chocolate covered blueberry and loganberry with accents of spice and espresso. The palate shows intense depth and a velvety structure all at once with succulent flavors of blackberry, cassis, and melted licorice. The finish carries rich flavors of fruitcake and plum jam with surprising elegance, a special attribute of this fine vintage, and offers delicate hints of bay leaf and spice as well. Lovely today, the Borne Cabernet Franc will only gain greater depth and complexity for many years to come.
