2015 will be remembered as a spectacular vintage throughout Burgundy. The warm dry weather and copious sunshine brought heightened levels of concentration and complexity to the entire region, including the Mâcon located further to the south. From a top year like 2015 the Mâcon can even rival its more famous (and expensive) northern neighbors of Meursault and Montrachet. The Marchand Bolnot Mâcon-Azé is a product of this wonderful vintage and it gives us great pleasure to share it with you.
Piercing white gold in color, the nose comes to life with fragrant lemon peel and freshly cut hay aromas. The body showcases the rich exotic flavors of apple and pear associated with the warm vintage but it still retains the classic refreshing, vibrant style of the Mâcon terroir. The finish is long and persists with pulsing acidity and nuances of lemon zest, grapefruit, and oyster shell. Approachable today, the wine should evolve beautifully over the next several years.
