The gentle sloping vineyards of Meursault celebrate Chardonnay in its finest form and we are thrilled to showcase the region’s greatness with our 2014 Marchand Bolnot Meursault. The 2014 vintage was an excellent year for the region, reminiscent of recent successes like 2010 and 2012 that offered powerful, vibrant wines with the structure and balance to age well. The Marchand Bolnot represents a collection of mid slope vineyards planted in a classic mix of clay and limestone soil with ideal south by southeast sun exposure. Entirely hand harvested, the wine spent 9 months in French Oak (40% new) before a final two months in large vats prior to bottling.

Deep gold in color with a greenish fleck, the nose begins with complex aromas of grilled hazelnuts, lemon zest, and honeyed pineapple, leading to richer nuances of toasted vanilla and jasmine as it opens up. The palate is the rare display of richness and power without excess, a trait unique to white Burgundy. Creamy pear and lemon flavors are fresh and lead to a sustained finish with nuances of wet stone, crème fraîche, and honeyed apple. Delicious today, the wine should evolve nicely and gain greater complexity over the next 6-8 years.
