The 2014 Burgundy vintage saw a return to strong yields and a warm, dry harvest that commenced in mid September. After three short years the region rejoiced in the overall quality and quantity of 2014 and we are excited to showcase its potential with the Marchand Bolnot Côte de Nuits-Villages. This completely hand harvested wine was raised 12 months in French Oak (20% new) and represents all the fine points of the vintage.
Pale garnet in color, the nose seduces with immediate cranberry, rhubarb, and rose aromas that lead to hints of damp soil and orange zest. A soft seamless tannin lays an ideal foundation to enjoy the wine’s flavors of pomegranate and red cherry skins with the bracing acidity brings length to the finish and opens to complex flavors of raspberry, tea, and mineral. Sublime today but a wine that will gain deeper earthen complexity over the following 5-7 years.
