This 100% Viogner was sourced from three spectacular high-elevation plots. One is so steep that the only way up into the vines is via a stone staircase carved into the hillside. In order to harvest the grapes, the winemakers had to block off traffic on the road below the vineyard and form a human chain down the side of the hill, passing small buckets of grapes from person to person all the way to the truck. That’s a ton of work – but when you taste this wine, you’ll see that every ounce of effort was worth it. This is a luscious, full-throttle wine that breaks all the rules: deep and powerful, but also shot through with wet stones and fresh flowers. The nose has powerful aromas of lilies and minerals wrapped around a exotic fruit core, coupled with a scent of watermelon shaved ice. The palate is so rich, you’ll be in raptures from the thick, viscous texture packed with ripe honeydew, white pepper spice, and banana cream pie. And the almond oil finish with notes of mango and cardamom wraps your tongue with pure pleasure.
