2016 Zeferino Alentejo Red BlendSKU: URPRZE-16
Deep magenta in color from the Alicante Bouschet, the nose of wild raspberry and blackberry evolves with hints of clove, flowers and spice as the wine opens up. The palate is lush with roasted plum and fig flavors, a firm tannin and a vibrant mineral streak. These intense flavors are sustained through the finish and endure with beautiful hints of grilled herbs, leather, and tobacco.

We are thrilled to introduce a new wine to our international portfolio with the 2016 Zeferino from Portugal’s Alentejo region. Portugal’s dry reds are fast becoming a major player on the Old World red wine circuit and the Zeferino is a prime example of how far they have come. A classic blend of native varietals, 40% Touriga Nacional, 40% Touriga Franca, and 20% Alicante Bouschet, the Zeferino has been carefully sourced from vineyards in the mountainous northeast corner of Alentejo where the cool, arid climate and rocky granite soils make for ideal grape growing conditions.
