2015 Nelkarisi Mtsvane White

SKU: EWMTNE-15

  Kekhati, Georgia

Rich white gold in color, the nose exudes bright aromas of cut hay, lime, and talcum powder followed by more musky peach and melon tones. The palate is both rich and refreshing with a mixture of candied orange, lychee, and apple flavors, slightly oily in texture but still retaining a refined, weightless mouthfeel. The wine finishes elegantly with flavors of lemon zest and orange peel, well perfectly balanced by the grape’s natural acidity. The wine drinks beautifully on its own but pairs well with a vast array of foods, in particular ceviche, grilled sea bass, or lemongrass chicken. Enjoyable now or over the next 3-5 years.

We are thrilled to welcome into our global portfolio the Georgian wines of Nelkarisi Winery. Georgia is the cradle of wine civilization with a history of wine production traced all the way back to 6000 BC. With the demise of the Soviet Union the Iron Curtain was drawn back to reveal a nation eager to share its proud wine history globally and reestablish itself in the wine world with an influx of western investment. Nelkarisi was formally established in 2009 by a group of eleven international friends with a deep passion for authentic Georgian wine. No expense has been spared in the development of the winery and its vineyards, and Nelkarisi is committed to producing its wine using only traditional methods and varietals. We are excited for you to join us on this special introduction to Georgia’s wine culture and look forward to your enjoyment of these wines. Mtsvane is the signature white grape of Georgia, a native varietal best known for its exotic flavors and perfumed aromatics.
