2003 Ortega Auslese, Rheinhessen

The color is vibrant gold, with a generous nose full of herbs, wildflowers and spice, laced with honey. Reminiscent of high elevation honey, or forest honey where the bees pollinate pines and very distinctive flowers giving the honey a special richer color and flavor. The body is full of rich green and red apple and honeydew melon. The finish is so elegant, very light on the honey with the fruit wrapped in a touch of spice and Alpine herbs.
