2007 Mariflor Pinot Noir Uco Valley, Mendoza

Michel Rolland's desire to produce a world-class Pinot Noir brought him to Argentina's Uco Valley, to the highest vineyard site in all of Mendoza. Grown at an astounding 3,600 feet above sea level, these delicately nurtured Pinot grapes produce an intense wine drinking experience at every level. Deep magenta in color, the bouquet springs to life with cranberry, pine cone, and damp earth aromas. Dark, powerful flavors of black cherry, mushroom, and pepper show the brawnier side of Pinot, but the finish still expresses the finesse and elegance sought from the grape's finest examples. A beautiful Pinot from one of the wine world's most influential producers.
